The Remington Model 8 is a John Browning design and was licensed to Remington in the U.S. and licensed to FN in Europe as the Browning 1900. It was marketed as a powerful semi-auto rifle in its .35 Remington chambering and sold to sportsman as a dangerous game rifle and to police for much the same reason. The Remington Model 8 in this caliber was one of the rifles chosen by the officers that ambushed and killed Bonnie and Clyde. Ammunition in this caliber is still manufactured and available, including Hornady’s LEVERevolution. Many hunters consider this rifle to still be a great woods rifle.
